I bought this to extend the unextendable (or recommended not to extend) cord that came with my Pioneer BDR-XS07UHD Blu-Ray Player/Writer to get it off the top of my rig.Impatient People:It worked better than the original cord, buy me.Overly extensive researchers:I called Pioneer for a longer cord and it was suggested that I did not extend the cord any longer due to possible issues from lack of power. They neglected to mention that an AC adapter was available, and I never bothered to look since I needed to extend the cord regardless (until after this arrived of course)They did tell me I "could" try to get a longer cord, just get it from a good company, well my entire PC setup (and most of my home) is protected by Tripp-Lite, so I figured this was probably my best shot. The manual told me the how many Amps but nothing about wattage. I put my trust in Tripp-Lite on that end and I wasn't disappointed...although I wish they made one just a BIT longer with the same specs. This cord compared to plugging it into my USB 3.0 on either side of my PC with the factory cord actually seems to give it more steady power than it was getting in the first place--time will tell if that ends badly and I will update my review after a nice chat with both companies if it does lol.Bottom line I've burned and played a few discs skipping around so far, the most I will till I raise my PC another inch or so...and I have no complaints or I would be returning the cord instead of raising my rig. That's my life story with Pioneer, now go buy it because it works haha.Cheers!
