This is a somewhat unique type of USB hub but it's designed pretty well.No, it's not a full USB-C dock with video, Ethernet, audio, etc. It just adds 3 downstream A ports, but the clever part is that it can either take power from the USB host device, or from an external PD source, and in the latter case it will also provide power to the USB host. That means you can connect it to a USB-C-powered laptop or smartphone either using its own battery to power the USB ports, or charging it from an external power supply, so it's kind of a minimalist dock if all you need is extra USB ports. And it's about as small as it can be.The one quirk is that it can't hot swap external power without resetting the entire hub, so you have to decide which power source you want to use before you start connecting anything.I don't use it very often but I just order a second one since it is very useful sometimes, and you never know if something will still be available when you need another one.
